In short: you use a grounding sheet at night in bed and a grounding mat during the day at your desk or under your feet. People who are new to grounding usually start with the grounding sheet, because during sleep you lie for many hours at a stretch with a large contact area. The grounding mat is the right addition for anyone who spends a lot of time at a desk.

The grounding sheet: for grounded sleep
A grounding sheet looks like a normal sheet. Conductive silver threads are woven into the fabric. The sheet is connected via a cable to the earth contact of a grounded wall socket. When your skin lies on the sheet, you are grounded while you sleep.
A good fit if you:
- want to try grounding for the first time,
- are looking for a routine that works every night without extra effort,
- want the largest possible contact area over many hours.
Flat sheet or fitted sheet? A grounding fitted sheet sits firmly on the mattress and does not slip. A flat sheet can be laid more flexibly on different mattresses. Wurzler™ offers both versions in Standard and Premium, plus the Bamboo Balance fitted sheet. Our grounding sheet guide explains the differences in material and care.
Tip: the best contact is achieved when your skin lies directly on the grounding sheet. A thin cotton cloth without synthetic fibres on top is possible; plastic, on the other hand, can insulate.
The grounding mat: for your desk and home office
The Wurzler™ grounding mat is designed as a desk pad for your mouse and keyboard or as a foot mat under your desk. Your forearms or bare feet rest on it while you work.
A good fit if you:
- spend many hours at a desk or in your home office,
- want to be grounded during the day as well as while you sleep,
- are looking for a flexible solution you can also put on the sofa or under your feet.
We do not recommend the mat for the bed, because it is not breathable. How best to place the mat is explained in the guide Grounding mat at the office and in your home office.
Or both? Grounded day and night
Many customers start with the grounding sheet and later add the grounding mat for their workplace or grounding barefoot shoes for on the go. This creates a routine for the whole day. If you want several products straight away, you will find suitable combinations in our sets.
Decision guide in three questions
- Where do you spend the most time at a stretch? In bed: grounding sheet. At your desk: grounding mat.
- Do you want to get to know grounding first? Then the grounding sheet is the typical way to start.
- Do you already have a grounding sheet? Then the grounding mat is the logical addition for the day.
Frequently asked questions
Can I also use the grounding mat in bed?
We do not recommend it. The mat is not breathable and is intended for the desk or floor. For grounded sleep, a grounding sheet is the better choice.
Do I need a separate socket for each product?
Each product is connected to a grounded socket via its own cable. This can also be a power strip with earth contacts plugged into a correctly grounded wall socket. How to check this is explained in our guide Checking your socket for grounding.
Do grounding sheets or grounding mats use electricity?
No. Both products are only connected to the earth contact and use no electricity.
What will I notice from grounding?
That differs from person to person. Wurzler™ products are not medical devices and do not replace medical advice.
